What exactly is a primary source and why is your professor asking you to find them? The library has a new guide that defines what a primary source is for every discipline as well as offering dozens of databases to access primary documents.
Whatever you are studying (science, history, art, literature, math) you will be asked to analyze and interpret original research articles, 19th century letters, sonnets, photographs, ledgers, and much more.
Did you know that the documents of UT’s history are kept in the library’s Special Collections room (primary sources!)? If you see something in the catalog that is housed in the archives, please don’t hesitate to ask a librarian at the reference desk, or contact Art Bagley at firstname.lastname@example.org
